Green
School Newsletter
Hi
Everyone,
The Green School’s
Committee is back with our last newsletter of this school year. We were pleased
to announce our school has recently been awarded with our 6th Green
Flag for ‘Global Citizenship – Litter and Waste’.
Four representatives from
our Green Schools Committee were presented with the flag in a special ceremony
in Galway on Thursday 19th May.
Thanks to everyone who
participated in this great achievement and a special thanks to all the members
of the Committee for all their hard work.
In September we will
commence work on getting our 7th Green Flag for ‘Global Citizenship
– Energy’. We hope everyone will
participate in this task.
Remember:
We continue to use the
hazardous boxes in school, so please continue to bring in your used batteries.
Remember not to throw
litter around because we want to keep the school grounds clean. Remember also
to use the correct bins for your rubbish.
Along with keeping the
school clean we must also keep in mind our most recent themes of ‘Energy
Conservation’ and ‘Water Conservation’. Remember to turn of taps, lights and
any other electrical appliances when not in use.
In other news!
Congratulations to the
children in 2nd class who recently received their First Holy
Communion.
Congratulations to the
children in 5th & 6th class who recently received the
Sacrament of Confirmation.
Our school tour to Dublin
is taking place on Friday 17th June. We hope to have a great day!
Remember our motto:
Look After Your Environment and Provide Enjoyment
